The title sounds better than other things that advertise the art of getting older :) In any event, I thought about writing something longer, but I more or less covered the rant yesterday. I also started to write about birthdays past and weirder experiences, but nothing seemed right, or it just seemed too showy, I guess. Not that was the intention.
In any event, my body reminded me this morning that I had entered the mid-30's (34) with a bruise on my foot that keeps aggravating me, and the constant creaking and popping of my joints as I go up and down the stairs. Still, I feel young in mind and soul, and that's what matters... right? :)
Take care everyone, and enjoy my birthday for me :)

Happy Birthday Chris! Hope there is a glump in your day.
"I feel young in mind and soul, and that's what matters... right? :)"
I've always maintained that to be true. I turned 30 in Jan and I certainly don't feel as old as people like to tell me I am.
Happy Birthday man. Have a good one and many more. Seeing that its a Friday, I'll have a celebratory drink for ya when I get home.
Happy Birthday, Chris. If I'd have known, I would have tried to enjoyed the day more. :)
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you, Chris!
I hope you had a wonderful day.
phil: no glomps, but I got to roll dice, which is almost as good :)
rav'n: thanks, and I am all for celebratory drinks, even if I am not having them... though we will be doing some celebrating at my parent's place Saturday :)
kate: Thanks, I appreciate it :)
rain: yay, a birthday serenade by a beautiful women, my day is complete :) And I had a pretty good day, to boot.
Happy Birthday Chris from downunder!
As long as you're healthy and have a positive outlook, age is just a number! :)
hey, i thought your birthday was the 3rd!
happy bday!!!!!!!!
chickybabe: Thanks :) and too true, it is just so, and I feel much younger after tormenting friends in a game last night :)
kate: Thank you :) Nope, but that would be kind of cool 03/03 (and cooler in 2003 (for 03/03/03 :)
Happy belated birthday sir. I also turn 34 this year. Currently my body is all beat up from excessive soccer matches. Enjoy your birthday weekend. Yes, feeling young in spirit definitely counts.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Chris! Yay! I hope it's a wonderful one for you. And you know 34 is in that grey area which miiiiiiiiiiiight still be considered early 30s. Well, that's what I'm telling myself in the (not to distant) future anyway. ;)
egan: Thank you, good sir. As they say, the spirit is willing, but the flesh... well, the flesh has to deal with the bumps and bruises :)
m: It is kind of a grey area, but I look at it broken down like this: 30-33 (early), 34-36 (mid) and 37-39 (late), though my folks will insist I am in my early 30's for the next few years :) And I had a great birthday, and thanks for the b-day wishes :)
It's your birthday! (so that means you can cry if you want to)
34 WOOT!! It's a hell of a lot better than turning 84 :) (I imagine)
It's just a number, Chris!!! I hit 45 this month, and there is definitely something to the "use it or lose it" mentality. Not many people would guess I'm this old because I protect myself, and am always trying new things. Took up martial arts a few months ago - and am enjoying it all so much!
I hope you have a wonderful birthday and use everything you have to it's fullest potential!
Hope you had a good one :) B-days are such fickle things
madameboffin: Yeah, turning 84 right now would be distressing :)
sayre: I had a pretty good birthday, and doing a little celebrating tonight with some family.
mistress: Indeed they can be... mine are usually just strange, but not so bad this time.
Happy Birthday.
No sympathy on the age though, I'm older than you. _grumble_
Thanks, though I get the impression you are not older by much :) Besides, I do get enough grief from those younger than me about my age constantly... they're just jealous of the wisdom I can impart, hehe.
Happy Birthday Chris and sorry for being so late to the festivities!
